Web Server Related

Why my submit form in my Frontpage does not work after uploading to web server?
- Our server is linux-based or freeBSD-based server which do not support the form submit which is designed using Microsoft Frontpage. We will recommend to use phpFormGenerator, or phpFormMail to overcome this minor issue.

How to upload my web content to webserver?
- FTP login information and postmaster account will be given to the site administrator once the hosting services are completed. You can download Filezilla and the documentation from Filezilla web site. Using the provided FTP login information to login to the web server. Make sure you change the directory to 'public_html' or 'web' folder.

Can I use Frontpage to upload my web design?

How to use Myonehost Webmail?
- Webmail is very handy especially for the users who wants to check the email from the browser anytime, and anywhere without configure the local email client and download the email. Just a internet browser (Internet Explora, Mozilla, Firefox etc) and internet connection will do.

We do have 2 webmail programs in our email server. You can use either Sqwebmail or Squirrelmail. These two webmails interface is very friendly and simple to use. No need specific documentation or training.

Why my email is returned by the mail server without sending?
- When you fail to deliver an email via our smtp/outgoing server, you will get a return mail from the mail server. You can find the description inside that email about the failure of the delivery.

Here are the most common errors:
  • user over quota
  • user does not exist
  • invalid email address
  • the email body contains virus and it is blocked by the anti-virus software at server side
  • sender IP was blocked / blacklisted by anti-spam organisation
  • slow connection to the internet

How to send an attachment more than 10MB?
- We limit the size of the attachment to 10MB. If you wish to attachment a file which is more than 10MB, we suggest to use the following method:
  1. ftp to your web server
  2. create a folder
  3. upload the file or attachment into that folder
  4. email the link to your recipient
  5. The recipient can click on the link and download the file/attachment

What does the email header tell you?
- The email header usually carries many useful information / details for us to troubleshoot and shows us how this email reaches us. It shows all the mail servers that it goes through.

How to stop the spam email?
- You need to install anti-spam program in you PC / Laptop Although we have anti-spam software in our mail server, not all the spam mail can be fully detected. The anti-spam software we used at mail server side will reduce the number of spam mail to your mailbox.

We suggest to use Mozilla Thunderbird email client program which built-in junk mail controller.

Why I can't access to the mail server?
- There are several reasons that make you can not reach your mail server:

  • slow internet connection from your site to our data center
  • domain expire
  • email client program (Microsoft Outlook, Outlook Express, Mozilla mail etc) corrupt or mis-configuration
  • using webmail (http://mail.your-domain-name.com) to identify the connection.

Why I cannot send attachment more than 10MB?

Why I get error message 5.7.1 when I am sending an email?
- Our mail server is using 'pop before smtp' or 'smtp after pop' technology. In other word, email user must do a pop authentication (checking email) so that your IP will be kept in our mail server for about 30 minutes. Within this period, you are allowed to send email via our smtp / outgoing mail server.

Using this technology, you are allowed to send mail regardless which ISP you connect to Internet. It can be any local provider such as TM Net, Streamyx, Jaring, Maxis, Mobile GPRS etc or any oversea ISP when you are in oversea.

Why I can't download email to my Outlook after the first time installation?
- Make sure the email address and account name is your full email address instead of single name.

How to change email password?
- Logon as postmaster to Qmailadmin in the Email Management System and change the email password before change in Microsoft Outlook/ Outlook Express.(Refer to the documentation.)

Server Colocation

Can I have minimum or guarantee bandwidth?

What is the bandwidth limitation?
- We do not meter the traffic in and out at your server. We concern about the burst rate you generate during our peak hour (9am to 7pm). We do not welcome bulk email sending, mirror site with extremely heavy I/O (input and output) activities and etc.

We will advise you to get dedicated bandwidth from us if you need particular bandwidth allocation

Can I have more than 1 IP?
- Yes. You can have more than 1 public IP. An additional IP will cost you RM120 / year / IP.

Can I bring in my server?
- You can bring in your server with the operating system (OS) and application software installed. You will totally contact and manage the server. The server could be any kind of rackmount casing. We will charge accordingly how much space your server occupy in our rack. We strongly prefer rackmount casing rather than a normal desktop or PC casing.

How do make the payment to Myonehost?
- You can make payment via one of the following methods:

Local (Malaysia) Customers:
  • credit card (online): You can purchase online from our web site.
  • credit card (offline): You can download the authorization form from our website and fill up the particulars in order to authorize us to charge you from your credit card account. (Please email or fax over the authorization form to 03-21418630)
  • direct bank in: You can bank in cash or cheque directly to our merchant account with Malaya Banking Berhad (MBB) or Bumiputra Commerce Bank (BCB) account. Fax in bank-in slip or transfer slip to us at 03-21418630.
  • mailing a local cheque: You can mail a check to us at Suite 8.02, Level 8, Amoda Building, No.22, Jalan Imbi, 55100 Kuala Lumpur.

Oversea Customers:
  • The currency will be converted to USD based on our exchange rate
  • credit card (offline): You can download the authorization form from our website and fill up the particulars in order to authorize us to charge you from your credit card account.(Please email the authorization form to us at account@myonehost.com)
